I have been practicing mindfulness for about 25 years, initially as a way to reduce my own stress when I worked for GE. During that time, I realized how much better I felt when I could sit every day, vs. when I skipped.
After going through training, I began teaching children and realized how challenging it is for kids to develop a daily practice on their own (of course adults find it challenging too). Janice Houlihan and I created and co founded Inner Explorer to help solve that issue by offering an evidence-based program that provides a simple and inexpensive way to implement daily practice in the classroom and at home. We consider it an adjunct or complementary to in-person mindfulness training and programs.
I live in Sarasota, FL, was in Oswego, IL, and am from Boston, MA.
I'm happy to be a part of COSEM and the mindfulness in schools movement!
