Sunset Phase

Educating Mindfully is entering a sunset phase due to sustained funding losses, declining participation, and shifting educational landscapes that have made the organization financially unsustainable. After thoughtful review, our Board determined that completing this chapter with integrity is the most responsible path forward.

 

We are choosing to “sunset” rather than “dissolve”, because this leaves an open possibility for a “sunrise” in the future.

What “Sunsetting” Means

Sunsetting does mean:

  • We are closing active programs, memberships, and events

  • We are winding down operational systems responsibly

  • We are no longer seeking funding or partnerships at this time

 

Sunsetting does not mean:

  • Our work is erased

  • Our resources are disappearing

  • The framework and learning are being taken away

  • The possibility of a future re-emergence is closed forever

 

We intentionally use the word sunset to honor that endings can be meaningful, and that new forms may emerge when conditions are right.

What Remains Available

As part of this sunset, Educating Mindfully is making all core resources freely accessible. Our website will remain live as a public archive and learning hub.

You will continue to find:

  • Our mindfulness-based learning framework

  • Lesson inspirations and resource materials

  • Recorded videos and learning content (YouTube)

  • The Voices blog and Learncast archives (YouTube)

  • Listing of mindfulness-based learning specialists 

​

These materials are offered openly from heart-centered generosity and shared learning.

Micro-Credential Program Updates

We are completing the current cycle of our micro-credential program with intention and care:

  • Participants from the current fiscal year will receive direct communication regarding completion options and timelines.

  • All remaining artifacts must be submitted by June 1, 2026.

  • Refund options are available for those who are unable to complete their program.

  • After June, the micro-credential videos will be transitioned to YouTube for public access, and will no longer be available as a program, professional learning hours, or graduate credit hours. Additionally, all companion resources will become available on our website.

 

Our goal is to ensure fairness, transparency, and respect for everyone who engaged in this work.

Gratitude to the Community

Educating Mindfully exists because of educators, leaders, facilitators, contributors, partners, board members, and community members who believed in cultivating presence, care, and humanity within learning spaces.

We are deeply grateful for:

  • Every educator/leader who showed up with an open heart

  • Every contributor who shared their wisdom

  • Every partner who walked alongside us

  • Every learner who trusted the process

  • Every President and Board Member who dedicated their passion to mindful education

Final Notes & Invitations

Invitation: Final Board Meeting (Open To All)

April 13th at 7:00 PM Central, Zoom

We invite any mindful educators or leaders to attend our final board meeting where we can answer any remaining questions about this process.

Invitation: Final Gratitude Circle (Open To All)

May 7th at 7:00 PM Central, Zoom

We will be hosting a final community circle in May as a space for gratitude, reflection, and shared completion. This will not be a training or informational session, but a simple gathering to honor what has been and to close this chapter together.

Details will be shared via email, social media, and website.

Staying Informed During the Transition 

We will continue to share important updates through:

  • Email communication

  • This website

  • Occasional social media updates for clarity only

We may not be able to respond to every individual message, but we are committed to transparent communication throughout this transition.

Although this chapter of the organization is complete, the mission and advocacy remain. Keep taking action as Mindful Global Citizens.
